ZDLT-15: Automatic High-Capacity Drum Melting, 10–15 t/h
ZDLT-15 is Feiteng's high-capacity automatic drum bitumen melting machine: 45 drums per load, 10–15 t/h output, with automatic hydraulic propulsion and automatic drum tipping doing the heavy work. It uses thermal oil from your external boiler as the heating source — the right configuration for asphalt plants and export projects that already run a centralized hot oil system and need serious drum throughput.
Why Contractors Choose ZDLT-15
-
45 Drums, 10–15 t/h
The largest drum capacity in the DLT family — 45 drums (500 mm) per load and a 24 m³ melting tank keep high-demand asphalt plants supplied without constant reloading.
-
Automation Cuts Labor
Automatic hydraulic propulsion moves drums along internal rails and the automatic tipping device positions them for decanting — less manual handling, fewer workers per shift.
-
Integrates With Your Boiler
The without-burner design connects to your existing thermal oil system (1,000,000–1,200,000 kcal), so one heat source serves the melter, tanks and pipelines.
-
Insulated, Efficient, 15 kW
High-density insulation holds heat in the tank while total machine power stays at just 15 kW — high throughput without high electrical demand.
Which Feiteng Drum Decanter Fits Your Site?
Choose ZDLT-15 for maximum automatic drum throughput with an external boiler. Need a smaller without-burner unit? See the DLT Series (8–10 t/h). No boiler on site? The self-heating YDST Series or automatic ZYDST Series brings its own diesel burner. Melting bag-packed bitumen? See the DKLR and YDLR bag decanters.
Send us your bitumen package type, capacity and heating condition — our engineers will recommend the right configuration within 24 hours.
Step 1 — Drum Loading
Load opened drums into the upper decanting chamber
Opened drums are loaded into the upper chamber in multi-row arrangement — 45 drums per load at 500 mm diameter. The large loading capacity means one load carries hours of production, so a forklift crew can load in batches while melting continues underneath without interruption.
Step 2 — Hydraulic Propulsion
Push drums along the rails automatically
The automatic hydraulic propulsion system advances drums along internal rails at a controlled pace, and the automatic tipping device positions each row for decanting. No workers pushing drums by hand — the operator supervises from the control panel while the machine keeps its own feeding rhythm.
Step 3 — Thermal Oil Heating
Heat drums with external thermal oil coils
Hot oil from your external boiler (1,000,000–1,200,000 kcal required) circulates through heating coils that wrap the drums in even, indirect heat. Indirect thermal oil heating never scorches the bitumen the way direct flame can — the binder keeps its grade, and the high-density insulation layer keeps the heat where it belongs.
Step 4 — Lower Chamber Heating
Continue heating melted bitumen in the lower chamber
Released bitumen collects in the 24 m³ lower chamber, which doubles as a heated buffer tank. Thermal oil coils hold the pool at a stable temperature, so downstream pumping continues smoothly even during drum reloading — the buffer is what turns batch melting into continuous supply.
Step 5 — Pumping and Transfer
Pump bitumen out at the required temperature
The 3GN80×2-46 output pump moves 24 m³/h on just 7.5 kW, transferring liquid bitumen to your storage tank or asphalt plant. The in-line filter removes drum slag automatically along the way, protecting downstream pumps and valves from blockage.
Main Components
-
Melting Tank (24 m³)
High-capacity tank for drum decanting, liquid bitumen collection and heating before transfer.
-
High-Density Insulation Layer
Reduces heat loss around the tank — more of your boiler's heat goes into the bitumen, less into the air.
-
Thermal Oil Heating System
Circulates external hot oil through the chamber coils; requires 1,000,000–1,200,000 kcal heating value.
-
Automatic Hydraulic Propulsion
Pushes drums along the rails automatically for continuous, low-labor drum feeding.
-
Automatic Drum Tipping Device
Positions each drum row for decanting — the key to multi-row, high-volume operation.
-
Bitumen Output Pump
3GN80×2-46 pump, 24 m³/h flow at 7.5 kW, for liquid bitumen transfer to storage.
-
Automatic Slag Removal
An in-line filter in the circulation tube removes drum residue automatically, protecting downstream equipment.
-
Electric Control System
Coordinates propulsion, tipping, heating and pumping from one panel — 15 kW total machine power.
