RLC-18: Keep Finished Emulsion Stable Until It Ships

Emulsion is the most temperature-sensitive product in a bitumen plant — overheat it and it breaks, let it settle and it separates. Feiteng's vertical heating, storage and mixing tank (model RLC-18) is built around that reality: gentle 3 × 15 kW electric heating with anti-dry-burn tubes, a slow agitator that keeps the emulsion uniform, and metered DN50 loading through an oval-gear flowmeter. The same vertical finishing tanks have been delivered to customers in the UK — production and truck loading no longer have to happen at the same moment.

  • Decouple Production From Loading

16 m³ of safe storage lets your emulsion plant run on its own schedule while trucks load on theirs — no more idling the mill because a truck is late.

  • Emulsion-Safe Heating

Anti-dry-burn electric tubes heat through thermal oil circulation — gentle, indirect warmth that holds temperature without the local hot spots that break emulsion.

  • Agitation Against Settling

The 1.1 m agitator keeps bitumen droplets suspended during storage, so the last ton out of the tank sprays the same as the first.

  • Metered, Documented Loading

The DN50 stainless oval-gear flowmeter (2.4–16.8 m³/h) records every transfer — loading volumes you can invoice against, not estimate.

Complete Your Emulsion Production Line

RLC-18 is the finished-product tank — pair it with the GRL-6 emulsion plant (6 t/h), the QRL Series (5–20 t/h) or the RL Series as the production unit, plus a base bitumen storage tank feeding the line.

Send us your production capacity and loading pattern — our engineers will configure the complete line within 24 hours.

Step 1 — Receiving

Receive finished emulsion from the production plant

Finished emulsion flows from your GRL or QRL plant into the tank through the DN50 inlet. The vertical Q235 tank body (Φ2.1 × 5.3 m) takes a small ground footprint beside the production line — storage capacity without sprawling across the site.

Step 2 — Temperature Holding

Hold temperature with emulsion-safe electric heating

Three 15 kW anti-dry-burn tubes heat thermal oil that circulates at 10 m³/h, warming the emulsion indirectly. Heating groups switch individually — one tube holds a warm tank, all three recover a cool one — and automatic control keeps the temperature inside the narrow band emulsion tolerates.

Step 3 — Agitation

Keep the emulsion uniform with slow agitation

The 1.1 m agitator turns gently to keep bitumen droplets evenly suspended — fast enough to prevent settling, slow enough to avoid shearing the emulsion. Run it on the schedule your formulation requires; the control cabinet handles the rest.

Step 4 — Sampling and QC

Sample from the dedicated valve before loading

The 25 mm high-temperature sampling valve lets your QC take a representative sample without opening the tank — verify the batch before it goes on a truck, not after a customer calls.

Step 5 — Metered Loading

Pump out through the flowmeter to trucks or distributors

The emulsion pump (12 m³/h) transfers product through the DN50 outlet and oval-gear flowmeter to trucks, distributors or site storage. Every cubic meter is metered — documented loading for invoicing, and the 330 L discharge manger keeps the loading bay clean.

  • Vertical Tank Body

    5 mm Q235 steel, Φ2.1 × 5.3 m — 18 m³ total, 16 m³ safe working volume on a compact footprint.

  • Anti-Dry-Burn Heating Tubes

    3 × 15 kW (DN80 × 1.5 m) electric tubes with individual group switching and automatic control.

  • Thermal Oil Circulation

50-32-160 pump, 10 m³/h at 2.2 kW, distributing gentle indirect heat (≈900 L oil charge).

  • Emulsion Pump

Gear pump, 12 m³/h at 7.5 kW, for loading, transfer and circulation duties.

  • Agitator (Φ1.1 m)

89 mm shaft, slow-turning blade keeps droplets suspended without shearing the emulsion.

  • Oval-Gear Flowmeter

    DN50 stainless steel, 2.4–16.8 m³/h — metered, documented transfers.

  • Sampling Valve

25 mm high-temperature ball valve for batch QC before loading.

  • Control System

Manages heating groups, temperature display, pump and agitator — 62.2 kW total, 380 V / 50 Hz.

RLC-18 FAQ

What is RLC-18 used for?

Storing, heating, agitating and loading finished emulsion bitumen after production — the buffer between your emulsion plant and your trucks. The vertical design also serves general heated mixing and storage duties.

Why does emulsion need a special finished-product tank?

Emulsion breaks if overheated and separates if left still. RLC-18 combines gentle indirect heating with slow agitation — a plain storage tank does neither.

What is the tank volume?

18 m³ total with 16 m³ safe working volume; a 19,000 L configuration is also available.

Does it include a pump and flowmeter?

Yes — a 12 m³/h emulsion pump and a DN50 stainless oval-gear flowmeter for metered, documented loading.

What are the payment terms?

Usually T/T: 30% down payment, balance before delivery. L/C is also accepted. Trade terms: EXW, FOB, CFR and CIF.

How long is the delivery time?

About 20 days of production time after the down payment is received.

What warranty and after-sales support do you provide?

One-year quality warranty after delivery, with online support included. We can also dispatch engineers for installation, commissioning and operator training.
