FDLT: Drum Tipping Decanter With ≤0.2% Bitumen Left Behind
FDLT is a continuous drum bitumen decanter with an automatic drum tipping device, melting 8–10 t/h using thermal oil from your external boiler. Its melting residual rate of ≤0.2% means almost every kilogram of bitumen you paid for ends up in your tank, not in the empty drum — and it handles drum diameters from 500 to 580 mm.
Why Contractors Choose FDLT
-
≤0.2% Residual Rate
The drum tipping device and hot-air circulation empty each drum almost completely. On a project consuming thousands of drums, that recovered bitumen pays back real money.
-
Fits 500–580 mm Drums
The wider drum-size range handles mixed drum stock from different bitumen suppliers — no re-configuration when your supply source changes.
-
Uses Your Existing Boiler
External thermal oil indirect heating means no duplicated burner to buy or maintain — the decanter joins the hot oil loop already serving your tanks.
-
Schneider Controls, One Container
Schneider electrical components and PT100 temperature sensing for reliable control; transport size 12 × 2.26 × 2.54 m fits one 40 ft high-cube container.
Which Feiteng Drum Decanter Fits Your Site?
Choose FDLT for tipping-type decanting with minimal residue on a site that has a thermal oil boiler. For rail-propulsion decanting compare the DLT and high-capacity ZDLT (45 drums). No boiler on site? The self-heating YDST and automatic ZYDST bring their own diesel burners. Bag-packed bitumen? See the DKLR and YDLR.
Send us your drum spec, capacity and heating condition — our engineers will recommend the right configuration within 24 hours.
Step 1 — Drum Feeding
Feed drums onto the tipping device
Drums move into the upper decanting chamber along two guide rails, and the automatic tipping device positions each drum for emptying. Feeding runs continuously — the tipping mechanism, not a work crew, sets the pace, which is what makes 8–10 t/h sustainable across a full shift.
Step 2 — Thermal Oil + Hot Air Heating
Heat drums with oil coils and circulated hot air
DN50 thermal oil coils carry heat from your external boiler (oil at 200–240 °C), while the Y5-47 fan circulates high-temperature air around the drums. The combination heats every drum surface evenly — that all-around heating is how the residual rate stays at ≤0.2% instead of leaving a bitumen shell inside each drum.
Step 3 — Lower Chamber Heating
Bring liquid bitumen to pumping temperature
Released bitumen collects in the 15 m³ lower chamber and continues heating to 110–140 °C. The chamber doubles as a buffer, so the pump always draws bitumen in a consistent, pumpable state — even while fresh drums are still melting above. 100 mm rock wool insulation keeps the heat where it belongs.
Step 4 — Filtering and Pumping
Filter residue and pump to your storage tank
The 24 m³/h pump group (7.5 kW) sends bitumen through the Φ300×500 filter — itself wrapped in a thermal oil jacket so it never clogs with cooling bitumen — and on to your storage tank via the DN80 outlet. Drum debris stops at the filter, not in your downstream valves.
Main Components
-
Upper Decanting Chamber
Drum decanting area with surrounding heating coils and twin guide rails for drum movement.
-
Lower Melting Chamber (15 m³)
Collects released bitumen and heats it to 110–140 °C pumping temperature, buffering downstream supply.
-
DN50 Thermal Oil Coils
Carry heat from your external boiler for indirect, even heating without scorching the binder.
-
Bitumen Pump Group
24 m³/h flow at 7.5 kW for circulation and external supply through the DN80 outlet.
-
Jacketed Filter (Φ300×500)
Thermal-oil-jacketed filter removes drum residue without clogging from cooled bitumen.
-
Hot Air Circulation Fan
Y5-47 fan moves high-temperature air around the drums, accelerating melt-out and cutting residue.
-
Insulation System
100 mm high-density rock wool with color steel covering reduces heat loss for stable operation.
-
Schneider Control System
Schneider electrical components with PT100 temperature sensing — 18 kW total power on 380 V / 50 Hz.

Applications
-
Barreled Bitumen Melting
Continuous decanting of drum-packed bitumen for road construction and project-site supply — with almost nothing left in the drums.
-
Asphalt Plant Support
Melt imported drum bitumen and transfer filtered liquid supply to asphalt plant storage tanks.
-
Sites With a Hot Oil System
Joins the thermal oil loop already serving your tanks and pipelines — one boiler heats the whole bitumen system.

FDLT FAQ
What is the FDLT Series used for?
Continuous melting and decanting of drum-packed bitumen, then transferring filtered liquid bitumen to storage tanks, asphalt plants or road construction systems.
Does FDLT include a diesel burner?
No. FDLT uses external thermal oil indirect heating — pair it with your boiler. If you need self-contained heating, see the YDST or ZYDST Series.
What is the production rate of FDLT-10?
8–10 t/h with a melting residual rate of ≤0.2%, depending on drum spec, thermal oil temperature and site conditions.
What drum sizes does it handle?
Drum diameters from Φ500 to Φ580 mm — tell us your drum spec for the final feeding configuration.
Are external pipes, valves and flanges included?
External pipes, valves and flanges are typically prepared by the customer. The exact supply scope is confirmed in your quotation.
What are the payment terms?
Usually T/T: 30% down payment, balance before delivery. L/C is also accepted. Trade terms: EXW, FOB, CFR and CIF.
How long is the delivery time?
About 20 days of production time after the down payment is received.
What warranty and after-sales support do you provide?
