    The Feiteng 500m³ Vertical Bitumen Storage Tank is a heavy-duty, infrastructure-grade solution for storing large volumes of asphalt. To overcome the transportation limitations of such a large vessel (9.7m diameter), we deliver the tank as a Semi-Knocked Down (SKD) kit. The steel plates are pre-rolled and beveled in the factory, ready for efficient on-site welding.

  • This tank is engineered for durability and thermal efficiency. It utilizes a graduated wall thickness design (8mm at the bottom tapering to 4mm at the top) to withstand high hydrostatic pressure. The heating system consists of seamless steel coils arranged in 4 independent circuits, allowing for precise zonal temperature control and preventing bitumen aging.

Robust Welded Structure: Unlike bolted tanks, this unit features a fully welded body using Q235B carbon steel. The wall thickness is scientifically graduated: 8mm (bottom), 6mm, 5mm, and 4mm (top) to ensure maximum structural integrity and safety.

Superior Insulation: The tank is wrapped in 100mm high-density rock wool (double the industry standard of 50mm) and covered with 0.5mm corrugated color steel tiles. This significantly reduces heat loss and fuel consumption.

Matrix-Flow™ Heating System: Equipped with approx. 700 meters of Φ57×3.5mm seamless steel thermal oil coils, providing a total heat exchange area of 125.3 m².

Zonal Heating Control: The heating system is divided into 4 independent circulation paths. It also includes a 20m³ fast heating zone near the outlet to rapidly heat bitumen for pumping without heating the entire tank volume.

Complete Safety & Monitoring: Standard configuration includes a mechanical float level gauge, bimetal thermometer, PT100 remote temperature sensor, spiral ladder, roof guardrails, and lightning protection.

Logistics & On-Site Assembly Solution

To solve the transportation challenges of large-diameter tanks, Feiteng utilizes a Semi-Knocked Down (SKD) delivery method. We combine factory precision with on-site flexibility.

  • Smart Packaging: The massive tank body is disassembled into pre-rolled steel plates. Each plate is processed in our factory to the exact curvature of the 9.7m diameter and packed into standard shipping containers. This eliminates the high cost of breakbulk shipping.
  • Prefabricated Precision: All steel plates (Q235B) feature pre-beveled edges, ready for immediate welding. The heating coils are also modularized for easy assembly.
  • On-Site Construction:Timeline: Once the foundation is ready and our team/tools are on-site, the assembly and welding process typically takes 25-30 days.Guidance: We provide a comprehensive "Method Statement" and Foundation Drawings (Concrete ring beam, Ø10.2m). You can choose to use your local workforce under our remote guidance, or we can dispatch engineers to your site.

How do you transport such a large tank (9.7m diameter)?

A: We use a Semi-Knocked Down (SKD) delivery method to solve the shipping problem. The tank body is disassembled into pre-rolled steel plates and packed into standard shipping containers. This avoids expensive breakbulk freight rates. All plates are factory-rolled to the precise curvature and beveled, ready for site assembly.

How long does the on-site installation take?

A: Once the foundation is completed and our construction personnel/tools enter the site, the production and welding process typically takes 25-30 days (subject to weather conditions).

Do you provide the foundation design?

A: Yes. We provide detailed drawings for the foundation. For the 500m³ tank, the foundation is a Concrete Ring Beam with a diameter of 10.2 meters. It requires 50cm of gray soil and 50cm of concrete, with a 12cm arch at the center, built by the user locally.

Is the tank structure bolted or welded?

A: It is Fully Welded. We do not use screws or bolts for the tank body. Welded structures are superior for hot bitumen storage as they prevent leakage caused by gasket failure during thermal expansion and contraction.

How does the heating system work efficiently for such a large volume?

A: The tank features a Matrix-Flow™ heating system with approx. 700 meters of seamless steel coils. The system is divided into 4 independent circulation paths controlled by separate valves, allowing you to heat specific zones. It also includes a 20m³ fast heating area near the outlet for rapid suction without heating the entire tank.

What is the insulation specification?

We use 100mm high-density rock wool for insulation, which is double the standard thickness (50mm). This significantly reduces heat loss and saves fuel costs for your thermal oil heater.
