YDXL-28: Rubber Bitumen Production — 20 Tons Per 2-Hour Batch, No Boiler Needed

The DXL series self-heating unit (model YDXL-28) produces rubber and SBS modified bitumen at project sites with no external boiler: two Baltur diesel burners and thermal oil coils heat the 28 m³ tank at about 20 °C per hour, three variable-frequency agitators and a 45 kW colloid mill handle dispersion, and each batch delivers around 20 tons in roughly 2 hours. Pair it with the matched YDXL-28C storage tank for continuous supply.

Step 1 — Matrix Bitumen Injection

Inject base bitumen into the 28 m³ tank

Base bitumen enters the production tank ahead of heating and additive feeding. The 28 m³ volume takes a full 20-ton batch with working headroom for agitation — one fill, one batch, no topping up mid-cycle.

Step 2 — Double Heating

Heat with twin Baltur burners and thermal oil coils

Two Italian Baltur diesel burners drive flue heating for speed while thermal oil coils spread gentle, even heat — the tank climbs about 20 °C per hour without scorching bitumen at hot surfaces. The burners start and stop automatically at your set temperatures, interlocked with the oil circulation pump.

Step 3 — Additive Feeding

Feed rubber powder or SBS through the reserved interface

Crumb rubber or SBS enters through the dedicated feeding interface at the rate your formula requires. The same machine runs both additive families — useful when one season's contracts call for rubber asphalt and the next for SBS.

Step 4 — Agitation and Grinding

Disperse through agitators and the 45 kW colloid mill

Three 7.5 kW variable-frequency agitators keep the batch moving while the 45 kW colloid mill (10 m³/h) grinds additive into the bitumen matrix in circulation passes. Grinding fineness is what determines the elasticity and stability of the finished rubber bitumen — this loop is the heart of the machine.

Step 5 — Storage Transfer

Pump the finished batch to the matched storage tank

The YCB18/0.6 insulated gear pump (18 m³/h) transfers the finished batch to the matched YDXL-28C storage tank, freeing the production tank for the next batch. Production and paving draw from separate vessels — neither waits for the other.
