YDST: Self-Heating Drum Bitumen Decanter, 8–10 t/h

YDST melts drum-packed bitumen at 8–10 t/h with a built-in diesel-burner heating system — no external thermal oil boiler required. Drum loading, closed-chamber melting and liquid bitumen pumping are integrated on one 12 × 2.2 × 2.54 m unit that moves with your project.

  • No External Boiler Needed

The thermal oil boiler is built into the decanter body. You save the purchase, transport and installation of a separate boiler system — and the site space it occupies.

  • 8–10 t/h Melting Rate

The closed chamber holds 32 drums (500 mm diameter) per load. Continuous melt-and-pump operation keeps your asphalt plant or storage tanks supplied.

  • Closed Chamber, Lower Fuel Cost

Enclosed decanting retains heat and reuses flue heat, cutting diesel consumption and keeping the site cleaner than open-flame melting.

  • Moves With Your Project

All main components mount on or inside the decanter body. Relocating to the next road project takes minimal disassembly and re-installation.

Which Feiteng Drum Decanter Fits Your Site?

Choose YDST when you want self-contained diesel-burner heating with no external boiler. Already have a thermal oil boiler on site? The DLT Series or automatic ZDLT Series costs less. Prefer automatic drum feeding with self-heating? See the ZYDST Series. Melting bag-packed bitumen instead of drums? See the YDLR and DKLR bag decanters.

Send us your bitumen package type, required capacity and fuel condition — our engineers will recommend the right configuration within 24 hours.

Step 1 — Drum Preparation

Open and lift drums onto the tipping device

Drums are lifted by the built-in electric hoist onto the tipping device — no separate crane or forklift is needed on site. The tipping device positions opened drums at the feeding port at a working height designed for a steady loading rhythm. One chamber load takes 32 drums (500 mm diameter), enough for hours of continuous melting before the next reload.

Step 2 — Closed Decanting

Push drums into the closed decanter chamber

The hydraulic propelling system pushes drums into the fully enclosed decanting chamber. Compared with open-flame or open-pit melting, the closed structure keeps heat inside the chamber, shields the bitumen from rain and dust, removes open-fire risk, and noticeably cuts smoke and odour around the working area — a real difference for crews and for sites near residents.

Step 3 — Integrated Heating

Heat with diesel burner, hot air and thermal oil coils

The 720,000 kcal diesel burner supplies heat through three paths at once: hot air circulating around the drums, thermal oil coils in the chamber, and the built-in heating furnace. The flue structure reuses high-temperature exhaust before discharge, so more of every litre of diesel goes into the bitumen instead of the atmosphere — this combined heating is what supports the 8–10 t/h melting rate.

Step 4 — Melting and Transfer

Collect, heat and pump liquid bitumen to storage

Melted bitumen collects in the 15 m³ lower chamber, where thermal oil coils raise it to pumping temperature. The burner starts and stops automatically at your set bitumen and oil temperatures, the liquid level alarm monitors the chamber, and the in-line filter removes drum slag — so the pump delivers clean liquid bitumen to your storage tank without manual supervision.

  • Decanter Tank

15 m³ main vessel for drum decanting, liquid bitumen collection, heating and transfer preparation.

  • Electric Hoist

Built-in hoist for drum handling — lifting arrangement is matched to your site loading method during quotation.

  • Tipping Device

Positions opened drums for decanting, working with the drum feeding and hydraulic propelling system.

  • Diesel Burner (720,000 kcal)

The heating source of the self-heating system — runs wherever diesel fuel is available, ideal for remote sites.

  • Built-In Heating Furnace

Integrated thermal oil furnace replaces a separate external boiler, saving cost and installation time.

  • Hydraulic Propelling System

Moves drums into the closed decanter chamber for continuous, controlled feeding.

  • Automatic Temperature Control

The burner starts and stops automatically at your set bitumen and thermal oil temperatures — no constant supervision.

  • Liquid Level Alarm

Monitors material level during operation for safer pumping and transfer management.

  • Filter and Slag Removal

An in-line filter in the circulation tube removes slag and impurities automatically during transfer.

  • Road Construction Projects

Melt drum-packed bitumen directly at the project site — the self-contained heating means no boiler infrastructure to build first.

  • Asphalt Plant Supply

Keep asphalt mixing plants continuously supplied with liquid bitumen from drum stock, with automatic slag filtering.

  • Remote and Mobile Sites

Diesel-burner heating runs wherever fuel is available — suited to remote sites without stable grid power for large heaters.

YDST FAQ

What is the YDST Series used for?

Melting and decanting drum-packed bitumen, then pumping liquid bitumen to storage tanks, asphalt plant supply systems or road construction bitumen systems.

Does YDST require an external thermal oil boiler?

No. The thermal oil boiler is integrated into the decanter body and heated by a diesel oil burner — that is the core advantage of the YDST design.

What is the production rate of YDST-10?

8–10 t/h when ambient temperature is above 25 °C. Actual performance varies with drum size, bitumen grade and site operation.

How many drums can YDST-10 load?

32 drums per load at 500 mm drum diameter. Other drum diameters change the loading quantity — tell us your drum spec for an exact figure.

Does the equipment include automatic temperature control?

Yes. The diesel burner starts and stops automatically according to the set temperatures of bitumen and thermal oil.

What are the payment terms?

Usually T/T: 30% down payment, balance before delivery. L/C is also accepted. Trade terms: EXW, FOB, CFR and CIF.

How long is the delivery time?

About 20 days of production time after the down payment is received.

What warranty and after-sales support do you provide?

One-year quality warranty after delivery, with online support included. We can also dispatch engineers to your site for installation, commissioning and operator training.

What should I confirm before ordering?

Drum diameter, required capacity, fuel availability, power supply, site layout, storage tank connection and shipping requirements. Send these with your inquiry for an exact quotation.
