GLS-15: Produce Your Own SBS Modified Bitumen at 15 t/h

GLS-15 is a skid-mounted SBS modified bitumen production unit that lets asphalt plants and road contractors produce PMB on site instead of buying it delivered. Blending tanks, a 55 kW shear mill, SBS feeding, three transfer pumps, heat exchange and PLC control are pre-assembled on one 12 × 2.3 × 2.54 m skid — control room included — with a matched 35 m³ storage tank available.

Step 1 — Blending and Swelling

Heat and agitate base bitumen with SBS

The two 3 m³ blending tanks work alternately: while one batch swells and blends under the 5.5 kW frame-type mixer, the other feeds the mill. Proper swelling time lets the SBS absorb into the bitumen before shearing — skip it and no mill can fix the dispersion, which is why the twin-tank design matters for continuous quality.

Step 2 — SBS Feeding

Feed SBS through the inclined screw conveyor

The 2.2 kW inclined screw conveyor with pneumatic diverter doses SBS granules into the blending tanks at a controlled rate. Mechanical feeding replaces bag-by-bag manual dumping — more accurate proportioning, less dust exposure for operators.

Step 3 — High-Shear Milling

Disperse SBS in the 55 kW shear mill

The mixed material passes through the 55 kW shear mill, where high-energy grinding breaks SBS down into fine particles distributed evenly through the bitumen matrix. Dispersion fineness here decides the PMB's elastic recovery and how long it stays stable in storage — this mill is the heart of the unit.

Step 4 — Circulation and Development

Circulate until the formulation fully develops

Material can loop through pumps, tanks and the 120 m² spiral-plate heat exchanger for further development, with the oval-gear flow meter keeping proportions exact. Multi-pass circulation is how one compact unit reaches the quality of a much larger fixed plant.

Step 5 — Finished Product Transfer

Pump finished PMB to the 35 m³ storage tank

The dedicated finished-product pump (16 m³/h) transfers modified bitumen to the matched 35 m³ storage tank, where it holds temperature until your mixing plant calls for it. Three separate pumps — base, feed and finished — mean raw and finished material never share a line.

What heating method does GLS-15 use?

Thermal oil indirect heating throughout — gentle, even heat that protects both the bitumen and the SBS polymer during processing.

Does GLS-15 include a storage tank?

Can it handle additives other than SBS?

What are the payment terms?

Usually T/T: 30% down payment, balance before delivery. L/C is also accepted. Trade terms: EXW, FOB, CFR and CIF.

How long is the delivery time?

About 20 days of production time after the down payment is received.

One-year quality warranty after delivery, with online support included. We can also dispatch engineers for installation, commissioning and operator training.
