YDL-40F: Self-Heating 42 m³ Bitumen Tank — No Boiler, No Plant Room

YDL-40F is a 42 m³ square bitumen storage tank with its own Baltur diesel burner and double heating system — diesel flue tubes heat the bitumen directly while thermal oil coils hold temperature and heat-trace your pump and pipelines. It heats at 10–15 °C per hour, runs on just 8.35 kW, ships in one 40 HQ container, and needs no external boiler or plant room to operate.

  • Double Heating = Fast + Stable

Diesel flue tubes push bitumen up at 10–15 °C/h for fast heat-up; thermal oil coils then hold temperature gently — quick when you need it, stable when you do not.

  • Complete Bitumen Station in One Tank

Storage, heating, unloading trough, internal circulation, external supply and pipeline heat tracing — one integrated unit replaces a multi-equipment layout.

  • 8.35 kW Total Power

Because heat comes from diesel, the whole tank — pumps, controls and all — draws just 8.35 kW. It runs where grid power is weak or expensive.

  • Holds Heat Overnight

50 mm full-tank rock wool insulation limits the 24-hour temperature drop to under 10% of the difference to ambient — less reheating fuel every single morning.

Which Feiteng Bitumen Tank Fits Your Site?

Choose YDL-40F when you want a self-heating tank with no external boiler and diesel is available. Prefer electric heating with zero fuel handling? See the DZL electric-heated tanks. Already have a thermal oil boiler? The DL Series (30–50 m³) costs less. Need double heating in another format? Compare the YZSL double-heating tank, or the 500 m³ vertical tank for farm-scale storage.

Send us your storage volume, heating condition and unloading method — our engineers will recommend the right tank within 24 hours.

Step 1 — Bitumen Receiving

Receive bitumen through the unloading trough

Base bitumen arrives via the unloading trough and the insulated 3QGB80×2-36 pump (16.8 m³/h). The same pump handles unloading, internal circulation and external supply — a DN80/DN65 three-way plug valve switches duties, so one pump does three jobs without re-piping.

Step 2 — Thermal Oil Circulation

Start oil circulation before the burner fires

The RY50-32-160 circulation pump (12.5 m³/h) moves thermal oil through the jacket and coils before heating begins. A burner–pump interlock makes the sequence physically enforced, not just a manual rule — the burner cannot fire into stagnant oil, protecting the oil from coking and the system from overheating.

Step 3 — Double Heating

Heat through flue tubes and thermal oil coils together

The Baltur TBL 60P burner fires the jacketed combustion chamber: Φ159 flue tubes carry hot gas directly through the bitumen for fast heat-up, while the 70 mm thermal oil jacket and coils heat indirectly for gentle holding. The combination reaches up to 180 °C bitumen temperature at 10–15 °C per hour.

Step 4 — Automatic Control

Set the temperatures and let the tank run itself

Automatic controllers watch both bitumen and thermal oil temperatures against your set upper and lower limits, starting and stopping the burner as needed. Schneider electrical components and a float level gauge with pointer display keep operation visible at a glance — no dedicated attendant required.

Step 5 — Supply and Heat Tracing

Supply bitumen and preheat your pipelines

Heated bitumen circulates internally or supplies your plant externally, while the DN25 heat-tracing line feeds hot thermal oil to the bitumen pump and pipelines. Preheated lines mean no cold-start blockages — the most common cause of morning downtime at bitumen stations.

  • Square Tank Body (42 m³)

5 mm steel plate body with 8 mm end plates on an integrated base — storage, heating and supply in one structure.

  • Baltur TBL 60P Diesel Burner

Imported Italian burner — proven reliability and worldwide spare parts availability.

  • Jacketed Combustion Chamber

12 mm chamber (Φ530 × 2500 mm) with 70 mm thermal-oil jacket — burner heat feeds both heating paths at once.

  • Φ159 Flue Tubes

Seamless steel tubes carry hot flue gas through the bitumen for fast direct heating.

  • Thermal Oil Coils + Circulation Pump

Indirect heating, temperature holding and heat tracing, driven by the RY50-32-160 pump at 12.5 m³/h.

  • Insulated Bitumen Pump

3QGB80×2-36 pump, 16.8 m³/h — unloading, circulation and external supply via the three-way valve.

  • Automatic Temperature Control

Dual controllers (range −200 to 450 °C) manage burner start/stop at your set bitumen and oil limits.

  • Float Level Gauge

Pointer display shows tank level in real time — simple, robust, readable from the ground.

  • Insulation + Cladding

50 mm rock wool with white corrugated steel cladding limits 24-hour heat loss to under 10% of the ambient difference.

YDL-40F is a storage and heating tank, not a drum decanter. Power supply, unloading conditions, heat tracing and supply connections are confirmed with your quotation.

  • Asphalt Mixing Plant Storage

Heated base bitumen storage with unloading, circulation and plant supply — the complete bitumen station beside your mixing plant.

  • Feeding Processing Systems

Supplies heated bitumen to emulsion plants, modified bitumen units and rubber bitumen systems at the required temperature.

  • Sites Without Boiler Infrastructure

Self-contained diesel heating and 8.35 kW power demand make it deployable on remote sites — unload the container, connect power and diesel, start heating.

YDL-40F FAQ

What is the YDL-40F used for?

Heated base bitumen storage with unloading, internal circulation, external supply and pipeline heat tracing — for asphalt plants and bitumen processing systems.

Is YDL-40F a drum bitumen decanter?

No. It is a self-heating storage tank. For melting drum or bag bitumen, see our bitumen melting machines.

What heating method does it use?

Double heating: the Baltur TBL 60P diesel burner drives flue tubes for fast direct heating plus thermal oil coils for indirect heating and heat tracing — up to 180 °C at 10–15 °C/h.

Can YDL-40F preheat bitumen pipelines?

Yes. A DN25 heat-tracing line supplies hot thermal oil to the bitumen pump and pipelines, preventing cold-start blockages.

Can it be shipped by container?

Yes — the complete unit loads into one 40 HQ container and arrives on its integrated base, ready for site placement.

What are the payment terms?

Usually T/T: 30% down payment, balance before delivery. L/C is also accepted. Trade terms: EXW, FOB, CFR and CIF.

How long is the delivery time?

About 20 days of production time after the down payment is received.

What warranty and after-sales support do you provide?

One-year quality warranty after delivery, with online support included. We can also dispatch engineers for installation, commissioning and operator training.
