BITUMEN STORAGE TANK SOLUTIONS
Bitumen Storage Tanks for Asphalt Plants, Road Projects and Bitumen Terminals
Feiteng supplies bitumen storage tank and asphalt storage tank solutions for contractors, asphalt mixing plants, road maintenance bases, bitumen terminals and asphalt processing systems. A properly designed bitumen tank helps keep asphalt binder at a stable working temperature, reduce heat loss, simplify site operation and support continuous production.
Depending on the project requirement, the tank system can be configured as a thermal oil heated bitumen tank, electric heating bitumen storage tank, vertical bitumen storage tank, double-heating asphalt tank or complete bitumen heating and storage system with pump, pipeline, valve, insulation and control cabinet.
Choose the Right Bitumen Storage Tank for Your Project
After reviewing the available products above, use this guide to match common project requirements with suitable Feiteng storage tank options. Each tank type is linked to a relevant product or inquiry path so procurement teams can move quickly from comparison to quotation.

Heating Methods for Bitumen Storage Tanks
-
Thermal Oil Heating
Thermal oil heating is commonly used for asphalt plants and bitumen terminals because it supports stable heat transfer, uniform tank heating and reliable long-term temperature control.
-
Electric Heating
Electric heating bitumen tanks are suitable for projects with stable power supply, compact site layout and preference for automatic temperature control without a separate fuel-fired heating source.
-
Double Heating Configuration
Double-heating asphalt tanks can combine different heating paths to improve startup flexibility and help contractors adapt to changing site conditions.
How to Select a Bitumen Storage Tank
Before requesting a quotation, confirm the project capacity, required heating method, available fuel or power source, installation space, installation method and whether the tank needs to work with a bitumen decanter, thermal oil boiler, asphalt mixing plant, bitumen emulsion plant or modified bitumen production line.
For large asphalt plant storage, consider vertical or large-capacity thermal oil heated tanks. For compact project sites, electric heating or skid-supported systems may simplify installation. For faster startup, double-heating configurations can be considered after technical confirmation. For complete systems, match the tank with a thermal oil boiler, bitumen pump, pipelines, valves and control cabinet.
When comparing asphalt storage tank suppliers, do not only compare the tank volume. A practical RFQ should also include heating efficiency, insulation structure, coil design, pump configuration, loading and unloading method, control system, transportation limitation and the required working temperature of the bitumen.

What to Include in Your Bitumen Tank RFQ
To receive a more accurate bitumen storage tank quotation, please provide the required tank capacity, bitumen type, target storage temperature, ambient temperature, preferred heating method, power supply, available fuel, installation site layout, transportation limits and whether you need pumps, pipelines, valves, loading arms or a thermal oil heating system.
If the tank will be used together with a bitumen melting machine, asphalt distributor, bitumen emulsion plant or modified bitumen plant, Feiteng can review the complete process flow and recommend a more practical heating and storage configuration.
FAQ About Bitumen Storage Tanks
What is a bitumen storage tank used for?
A bitumen storage tank is used to store and heat asphalt binder before it is supplied to an asphalt mixing plant, road maintenance project, bitumen terminal, bitumen emulsion plant or modified bitumen production line.
What heating methods are available for bitumen storage tanks?
Common options include thermal oil heating, electric heating and double-heating configurations. The best choice depends on project capacity, power supply, fuel availability, startup speed and site layout.
How do I choose between a vertical and horizontal bitumen tank?
Vertical bitumen tanks are often considered for large-capacity storage and centralized tank farm planning, while horizontal tanks may be easier to transport, install or integrate into compact project sites. The final choice should consider capacity, site layout, shipping limits and installation conditions.
Can Feiteng customize tank capacity and layout?
Yes. Tank capacity, insulation, heating coil, pump system, pipeline layout, control cabinet and matching thermal oil boiler can be configured according to project requirements.
What information should I provide for a quotation?
Please provide required storage capacity, bitumen temperature requirement, heating method preference, power supply, fuel type, installation site conditions and whether the tank will connect to an asphalt plant or other bitumen equipment.
Can the storage tank work with a bitumen melting machine?
Yes. A bitumen storage tank can be designed as part of a complete bitumen handling line with drum bitumen decanters, bag bitumen melting machines, thermal oil boilers, pumps and pipelines.
Can a bitumen storage tank be used with emulsion or modified bitumen equipment?
Yes. Bitumen storage tanks can supply heated bitumen to asphalt emulsion plants, polymer modified bitumen plants and rubber bitumen equipment, depending on the process design and temperature requirements.
